I want one of these purses! I think they are so cool! I saw one at work a few days ago... a customer was wearing one. She said she bought it from an online source, and this is the only one I can find. The customer's was an old Pennsylvania plate ( yellow against a blue background) and it was lined in a burgundy fabric. It was very nice!

I am a freak for fonts! Bill and I went on a road trip today looking for a black faced internal cd burner. While he checked out both Best Buy and Comp USA to no avail, I searched for new font collections. I found a bargain cd for 5 bucks... over 4000 different fonts! Whoo Hoo! It has a little font manager... I can add the ones I want and remove the ones I'll never use. There are a few things that I go nuts for. Some people get excited when they see a new nail polish color, or a new pair of shoes. I salivate when I see new colored pencils, tubes of paint, fancy paper, and fonts! I guess my priorities are a little mixed up! Now I have to type a letter to someone using my a new funky script font!

Scenario for a Horror Movie
I was out walking my dogs today, and as usual, my mind wandered. For some odd reason, it wandered back to when I was a kid, walking home from the Prescott Elementary School. It was a fine Spring day. There I was, minding my own business, when a fly flew up my nose! It was the freakiest feeling... it was still alive, so it was fluttering it's wings and moving it's little legs. I'm going all spastic, thinking the fly was going to go into my brain and lay it's eggs! I started sneezing, and my nose started running. It was horrible! Finally, Thank Goodness, I sneezed the darn fly out! What a weird thing to remember!

This just jogged my memory for something that my Mother told me. I think it was her, maybe it was my aunt, but one of them put a bean in their ear, and it became stuck. They started to get bad breath, and a major ear-ache. When they went to the doctor, they found out that the bean actually started to sprout in their ear! YUCK!

Why did I write this? I'm not sure. But thanks for sharing in my trip down memory lane!
This week, I got a letter from a prisoner. I didn't open it; I just threw it away after seeing the official prison mail stamp that the "officials" affixed to the letter. Why am I getting prison mail? It has been happening on and off for years because I am a penpaller, and I sign "friendship books". What are friendship books, you ask? Well, they are small booklets of paper that are made for a person, who's name and address goes on the front. The person who makes the book mails it, usually in a letter, to her penpal who signs it and passes it on, and so on. When it is full, it is sent back to the person for whom it was originally made. They are fun to do, because you get to see all the different places it's been to (I just got one returned to me that started in Scotland, then went to Croatia, Slovakia, Spain, Italy and South Africa before coming home to me!). But there is a bad side to them. Some people, who don't mind writing to prisoners, think it's ok to take your name and information from the "F.B." and either send it to their prison pal who passes it on to his buddies, or they publish it in a zine that prisoners subscribe to. I have nothing against people (mainly women) who write to prisoners. I personally have no desire to do so.

I used to read the letters out loud to my older brother, sort of making fun of the letter. There are a few things that are common in the letters. They are all innocent. They are not looking for anything more than friendship (one guy told me that, and then proceeded to say he likes to write hot and sexy letters, with the words "hot" and "sexy" highlighted with what looked to be pink blush make-up or chalk). They have all found God and repented the error of their ways (they just need a good woman to help them along the bumpy road they face). I never answered one letter sent to me by a prisoner, and I never will. In the last month, I have received about 3 prisoner letters, and they have all gone in the circular file!

My This or That for this week.
The recreation edition!
1. Art or science museum? Definitely an art museum!
2. Play or watch sports? It depends on the sport, but more than likely, it's watch sports.
3. Zoo or circus? I love the zoo!
4. Theater: film or live on stage? Live on stage.
5. Rock concert or the symphony? Symphony
6. Movies: see them in a theater or wait for DVD/VHS? Again that depends on the movie. We do go to the theater alot, though.
7. Board games or computer/video games? For me, it's boardgames. I just learned how to play chess. I love Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit... you name it!
8. Hobbies: crafts (art, cooking, home repair, etc) or collecting (coins, stamps, rocks, etc)? I actually do both... I don't know how I would choose!
9. Watch TV or read a book? Most tv sucks, though there are a few shows that I watch. I do prefer reading a book though.
10. Eating out: fancy, white-tablecloth restaurant or casual dining? That depends too. We aren't eating out as much as we used to. Sometimes, I would like to be pampered, sometimes I like it more casual.
This whole "Let's Roll" thing is getting stupid now. It's not like he was the only one who ever used the phrase. Now we can be happy that Wal-Mart can legally use it.

I thought about this during the day. I love my husband intensely. But if something as tragic as what happened to Lisa Beamer's husband happened to my husband, I would not try to capitalize on his death. It's a phrase that people have used for years, and she trademarks it? I'm glad that the foundation was set up to help children, but what does licensing "Let's Roll" to Wal-Mart and to a Florida high school's football team do for the memory of her husband? I'm sure he would want her to be taken care of monetarily, but this is just a little morbid.
